I have always combined creativity and engineering: navigation software for aircraft, AI inside mixing consoles, algorithms that read microscope images.
Three projects I'm proud of, from three very different rooms: a cockpit, a live sound desk and a biotech lab.

NAVIA, aircraft navigation software
I build and maintain NAVIA, the main software of the project. It runs on embedded Linux with safe A/B over-the-air updates, and includes speech recognition and an AI voice assistant.
A CNN recognises the instrument on a channel, then EQ, compression and loudness are set automatically. Prototyped in Python, listened to in real rooms, shipped in C++.
Accessible, easy-to-use DNA analysis to detect bacteria, viruses and foreign organisms. I handled business development and R&D, and the team raised €16,800 without giving away equity.
Engineering is half of the job. The other half is explaining it well and keeping a clear head.
Public speaking and clowning
President, Two Towers Toastmasters Bologna
Leading the club for 2026/27. Toastmasters is a worldwide network, founded in 1924, that trains communication, inspiration and leadership. We meet in Italian and English, in person and online. Guests are welcome.
Clowning is part of the same craft for me: surprise, authentic expression and real connection with an audience. I wrote about it in Clownnection.
During a career break in Slovenia I volunteered at an institute for resilience and connection with nature: permaculture, regenerative agriculture, natural building and eco-psychology.
Garden, woodworking and self-sufficiency are a big part of my life outside work. I wrote about it in The Space Created with Your Hands.
My first jobs were biomedical: an algorithm that detects human cells in fluorescence microscopy images at Cellply. That signal-processing mindset still shapes how I write audio code.
